Army troops, police rescue eight kidnapped victims in Kogi

Nigerian Army troops police and vigilantes in Kogi have rescued eight kidnapped victims during an operation in Obajana, Lokoja Local Government Area.

Zagazola gathered that the operation followed intelligence received at about 3:30 a.m. on Thursday that kidnappers were moving their captives through Obajana to Ankome Forest.

It was gathered that the troops ambush the terrorists and engaged them in a gun duel, forcing them to flee, some with bullet wounds, and abandoning their captives.

The victims rescued unhurt include: Adamu Saje,Abdulmumini Yunusa, Abdul Abubakar, Halima Abdullahi, all from Usugwe community, Okehi LGA, abducted on Aug.

Others are Abubakar Tukur and Hafsatu Abubakar, both from a Fulani camp in Apata area. families of the victims have been contacted while the joint team is still tracking the fleeing suspects for possible arrest.
