Troops of Operation FANSAN YANMA, in collaboration with police operatives and C-Watch patrol teams, have rescued six kidnapped children in Gidan Maga village, Malumfashi Local Government Area of Katsina State.
Zagazola gathered that the incident occurred on Monday when armed men invaded the community with the intent to abduct residents.
Troops of Operation FANSAN YANMA alongside a joint team of policemen, and local security operatives blocked all potential escape routes and engaged the assailants in sustained gunfire.
“The superior firepower of the troops forced the kidnappers to abandon the six children and retreat into Naalma Forest,” said sources.
The rescued victims were identified as Abdulhakim Rilwanu, 12; Zinatu Mansir, 10; Ado Sani, 9; Sani Umar, 10; Yusuf Umar, 10; and Jamilu Nasiru, 11, all from the same community.
The children were rescued unharmed, taken to safety, and would be reunited with their families.
The sources added that a cordon and search operation was ongoing in the forest to track down the fleeing criminals.
