GOC 3 Division holds stakeholders’ meeting after killing of six in Barkin Ladi

Following the attack on Lajam village in Marit District of Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State, which resulted in the death of six locals and injuries to others, the General Officer Commanding 3 Division and Commander Operation Enduring Peace (OPEP), Maj.-Gen. W.M. Dangana, held a stakeholders’ meeting in the area.
The meeting, held at about 11:56 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 26, 2026, took place at Sector 4 OPEP headquarters in Barkin Ladi.
Those in attendance included the Commander 3 Division Garrison, Brig.-Gen. A. Aminu; Commander 43 Division Engineers, Brig.-Gen. A. Sadiq; Chairman of Barkin Ladi Local Government Area, Barr. Solomon Dalyop Mwantiri, and other stakeholders.
Security sources said the meeting formed part of ongoing efforts to de-escalate tensions and address the persistent cycle of killings and counter-killings in Barkin Ladi and neighbouring communities.
The stakeholders were expected to deliberate on measures to strengthen security, improve community engagement and prevent further retaliatory attacks.
The meeting ended peacefully without any incident.
