GOC 8 Division Inspects Front-Line Bases in Zamfara, Tasks Troops to Sustain Offensive

The General Officer Commanding 8 Division and Commander, Sector 2, Operation Fansan Yamma, Maj.-Gen. Bemgba Koughna, has concluded an operational tour of forward operating bases across Zamfara State as part of efforts to strengthen troops’ combat readiness and ongoing security operations.
During the tour, Koughna inspected tactical deployments, defensive positions and the logistics preparedness of troops deployed to the front lines.
Security sources said the visits were also aimed at assessing the operational situation in the areas of responsibility and identifying areas requiring further adjustments to improve the effectiveness of ongoing operations against terrorists and criminal networks.
The GOC interacted with troops during the visits and commended them for their resilience, dedication and sacrifices in the fight against insecurity.
He charged the personnel to maintain an aggressive operational posture, sustain the momentum of ongoing operations and remain focused until security is restored across the state.
Koughna also reaffirmed the commitment of 8 Division to protecting lives and property, assuring residents of continued military efforts to dismantle terrorist enclaves and improve security across Zamfara.
He urged troops to remain professional and resolute in the discharge of their responsibilities while sustaining close cooperation with other security agencies and local communities.
