Katsina police avert planned bandit attack on Maidabino village

The Katsina State Police Command has intensified security in Maidabino Village, Danmusa LGA, following credible intelligence of a planned attack by bandits, police said on Tuesday.
According to sources , the bandits, reportedly loyal to Ado Aliero, were believed to be hibernating between Tsafe LGA of Zamfara State and Yarmalamai Area, Faskari LGA of Katsina State.
Acting on the intelligence on 23/03/2026 at about 0900hrs, the command convened an emergency meeting with all ACPs, frontline DPOs, and tactical team commanders to issue directives.
Officers were instructed to enhance intelligence gathering, maintain inter-agency cooperation, and deploy proactive measures to prevent surprise attacks.
Reinforcements from neighboring divisions, including Dutsinma, Safana, Kurfi, and Matazu, were deployed along with five armoured personnel carriers to bolster security in Danmusa Division.
The situation remains under close monitoring, and the command assured residents of continued protection.
