Mwaghavul militia carried out two separate attacks on Fulani herders in Mangu in renewed escalation

Suspected Mwaghavul militia have reportedly launched two separate attacks on Fulani herders in parts of Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State, resulting in the death of a herders and the alleged rustling of several cattle.
Security sources told Zagazola Makama that the first incident occurred around Lamor, near Lawet, where a Fulani herder was reportedly killed by unidentified attackers.
Several cattle were also reportedly killed or taken away during the incident, although the exact number of livestock affected could not immediately be established.
In a separate development, Fulani residents and their livestock were reportedly attacked around the Takas area of Mangu.
Sources said the attackers were suspected to be members of a Mwaghavul militia group.
The incidents have heightened tension in the affected communities, particularly amid the recent cycle of attacks and reprisal violence involving different communities in Mangu and neighbouring areas.
The latest reports come against the backdrop of continuing attacks, cattle rustling and retaliatory violence in parts of Plateau State, raising concerns over the safety of rural communities, farmers and herders.
