NIGERIAN ARMY BOOSTS TROOPS' CAPACITY WITH INTENSIVE TRAINING
The Nigerian Army has further boosted the capacity of its troops with an intensive training package, codenamed "Exercise FAST BOLT III", conducted at the Nigerian Army Training Centre (NATRAC), Kotangora, Niger State.
The 21-week training, which was attended by soldiers of the Chief of Army Staff' Special Operations Battalion, was aimed at enhancing the troops' operational competence and mission orientation.
The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede, who was represented by the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 1 Division and Commander Sector 1 Joint Task Force North-West Operation FANSAN YAMMA, Major General Mayirenso Lander Saraso, emphasized that the training was a reflection of his Command Philosophy, which places high premium on combat readiness through consistency and standardized mission orientation.
The COAS stated that the Exercise was revitalized and conducted in double stream, and was extended from 3 to 6 months to deepen and enhance the troops' operational competence and tactical acumen.
He added that the Exercise will continue to provide a vital platform for the Nigerian Army to sustain its personnel for deployment across various theatres of operations.
The COAS commended the troops for their outstanding performance, noting that it demonstrates and affirms the effectiveness of the training approach.
Dignitaries who attended the closing ceremony included the Commandant Nigerian Army Training Centre (NATRAC), Principal Staff Officers from the Army Headquarters and 1 Division, as well as Formation Commanders and Heads of Security Agencies in the area.
Highlights of the event included a training review, tug of war, presentation of certificates, tree planting, and commissioning of new projects.
