One Killed, Two Injured as Terrorists Attack Village in Niger’s Dosso Region

At least one person was killed, two others injured, and 24 cattle rustled after suspected terrorists attacked Yassoukounga village in the rural commune of Tounouga, Gaya Department of Dosso Region in the Republic of Niger.
Local sources told Zagazola Makama that the attack occurred during the night of July 11 to July 12, when the assailants stormed the village, killing one resident and injuring two others before making away with 24 cows.
The sources said the incident has left residents in shock, with fears growing over the worsening security situation in communities along the Niger-Benin-Nigeria border corridor.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack, but the area has witnessed recurring incursions by armed terrorist groups operating across the border regions.
Security authorities are yet to issue an official statement on the incident.
