Peace accord leads to release of 10 kidnapped victims in Katsina

Ten victims abducted from Danjanku Village in Malumfashi Local Government Area have been released following a mediated peace accord between local communities and bandit elements.

 

Zagazola Makama report  that the peace talk was facilitated on Dec. 26 at about 11:00 a.m. under the Operation Safe Corridor initiative in Yantumaki Village, Danmusa Local Government Area.

 

According to the sources, the meeting brought together the Chairman of Malumfashi LGA, traditional rulers, and bandit leaders, including Munore, Wada Yellow, and Yalmi. Discussions focused on restoring peace, ending hostilities, fostering mutual respect, and ensuring freedom of movement.

 

The sources said the meeting concluded with all parties committing to uphold the terms of the agreement, leading to the release of the ten previously abducted victims.

 

Authorities added that the situation is being closely monitored to ensure sustained peace and prevent further security challenges in the area.
