Plateau: Man injured in Barkin Ladi during altercation with a Fulani Man

Troops of Operation Enduring Peace have responded to an assault incident in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State, where a resident sustained injuries following an altercation with another individual.
Security sources said the incident occurred at about 7:30 p.m. on June 18 at Yelwa Village in Barkin Ladi LGA.
According to the sources, troops of Sector 4, Sub-Sector 41 Gashish, were deployed to the area after receiving information that a local resident, identified as Mr Morgan Dauda, had been attacked during an argument.
The sources said the suspect, identified as Umar, allegedly assaulted the victim with a machete following a disagreement that reportedly stemmed from a minor dispute.
Upon arrival at the scene, troops found the victim with machete-inflicted injuries, while the suspect had fled before security personnel reached the location.
The injured victim was immediately evacuated by troops to a nearby clinic, where he is currently receiving medical treatment.
Security authorities said efforts were ongoing to track down and apprehend the suspect for further investigation and possible prosecution.
“The prompt intervention by troops ensured that the victim received urgent medical attention, while efforts have commenced to arrest the fleeing suspect,” a security source said.
Operation Enduring Peace reiterated its commitment to maintaining peace and security across Plateau State and urged residents to resolve disputes through lawful and peaceful means.
They also appealed to members of the public to provide credible information that could assist in the arrest of the suspect and other criminal elements operating within communities.
Authorities assured residents that necessary measures were being taken to prevent any breakdown of law and order arising from the incident.
