Plateau: troops rescue suspected kidnapper from mob, effect arrest in Shendam

Troops of Sector 9 under Operation Enduring Peace have rescued a suspected kidnapper from mob action and taken him into custody in Shendam Local Government Area of Plateau State.
Security sources said the incident occurred at Gidan Mangoro village, where an irate crowd had apprehended the suspect and was about to lynch him before the arrival of troops.
The troops swiftly intervened, dispersing the mob and rescuing the suspect from being killed.
According to the sources, the suspect was immediately taken into custody for further investigation into his alleged involvement in kidnapping activities in the area.
Military authorities said the intervention was part of ongoing efforts to uphold the rule of law and prevent extrajudicial actions by members of the public.
They added that the suspect would be handed over to relevant security agencies for prosecution after preliminary investigations.
