Police arrest 10 suspects, recover firearm in Benue cult clash

The Police Command in Benue state has arrested 10 suspects and recovered a firearm following a violent clash between rival cult groups in Adikpo town, Kwande Local Government Area.
Sources aid the incident occurred at about 6:30 p.m. on April 20 when information was received about a confrontation between members of the Red and Black cult groups.
According to the sources, a patrol team was immediately mobilised to the scene, leading to the arrest of one Ebube Elijah Anayo, identified as the leader of the Black cult group, who was found in possession of a locally fabricated pistol.
The sources added that Afa Lubem, alleged leader of the Red cult group, along with eight other suspects, were also arrested in connection with the clash.
They said efforts were ongoing to track and apprehend other fleeing members of the groups.
The case has been transferred to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) for further investigation.
