Police Arrest Suspect as Rival Youth Groups Clash in Bauchi

The Police Command in Bauchi has arrested a 22-year-old suspect following a clash between rival youth groups in Bauchi metropolis that left one person seriously injured.

 

Police sources said the incident occurred at about 12:30 p.m. on July 2 when a clash broke out between youths from Gudum Sayawa and Gudum Hausawa, popularly known as “Sara Suka.”

 

The sources said one Umar AC sustained serious injuries during the violence.

 

According to the sources, a police patrol team responded swiftly to the scene and evacuated the injured victim to the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital (ATBUTH), Bauchi, where he was admitted for treatment.

 

The sources said one Zurkanlaini Alhassan, 22, was arrested in connection with the incident.

 

They added that investigations were ongoing to identify other persons involved and determine the circumstances that led to the clash.
