Police arrest three suspected cattle rustlers, recover stolen cows in Ekiti

Police operatives in Ekiti State have arrested three suspected cattle rustlers and recovered two stolen cows during a swift operation in Ikole Local Government Area of the state.
Sources told Zagazola Makama that the incident was reported at about 4:17 p.m. on July 24 after Mohammed Saidi Laaro, a resident of Temidire Street, Ayebode Ekiti, informed the police that suspected cattle rustlers had invaded his camp earlier that day.
According to the complainant, the five-man gang stormed the camp at about 3:00 a.m. and made away with two cows before fleeing.
Upon receiving the report, personnel from the Ikole Ekiti Division immediately mobilised to the scene and trailed the suspects to a forest located between Oke Ayedun and Ipao Ekiti.
During the operation, three suspects identified as Abubakar Umaru, 20, of Ilasa Ekiti; Usman Haruna, 21, of Ilasa Ekiti; and Shehu Abubakar, 25, of Oke Ayedun Ekiti, were arrested in connection with the theft.
The stolen cows were successfully recovered during the operation.
Police sources said another suspect, identified as Adamu Musa of Oke Ayedun Ekiti, escaped and remains at large.
Efforts are ongoing to apprehend the fleeing suspect, while investigations into the case continue.
