Police Arrest Woman With 88 ATM Cards in Ogun

The Ogun State Police Command has arrested a 30-year-old woman in connection with suspected criminal activity after she was allegedly found in possession of 88 Automated Teller Machine (ATM) cards belonging to different banks.
The suspect, identified as Success Olafemi, 30, of Kara Makasia near the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) Camp in Ogun State, was arrested on Saturday, August 22, 2026.
According to a security report obtained by Zagazola Makama, the arrest followed information received at about 10:00 a.m. from a woman identified as Tope Makinde of Iwe-Lepe village along Sagamu Road.
The informant reportedly told the police that earlier at about 9:00 a.m., the suspect had gone to Ewu-Lisa via Simawa, where she allegedly attempted to lure a seven-year-old girl identified as Jumat, whose surname is yet to be established.
The suspect allegedly used ₦200 notes and sachets of Milo tea to entice the child before she was apprehended.
A search conducted on the suspect reportedly led to the recovery of 88 ATM cards belonging to various financial institutions.
The recovered cards included 25 OPay ATM cards, 13 UBA cards, two Skye Bank cards, seven Keystone Bank cards, nine GTBank cards, 10 Zenith Bank cards, two PalmPay cards, four Ecobank cards and 11 First Bank cards.
Police also recovered ₦7,000 in cash, comprising ₦200 denominations, from the suspect’s handbag, as well as sachets of Milo and Nescafé tea.
The suspect was taken to the police station, where detectives commenced interrogation.
During questioning, she reportedly failed to provide a satisfactory account of how she came into possession of the large number of ATM cards.
The report further stated that the suspect appeared to be mentally unstable, prompting further investigation into her background and circumstances surrounding the recovered items.
The police said the case remains under investigation to determine the ownership of the ATM cards and whether the suspect is linked to other criminal activities.
