Police recover arms, drugs in Benue, arrest three suspects

The Police Command in Benue on Sunday said it arrested three suspects for unlawful possession of firearm, ammunition and illicit drugs in Ogbadigbo Local Government Area.
Zagazola Makama report that the operation was carried out at about 1:20 a.m. on Friday by security operatives with support from visiting operatives of Mobile Police 3, Enugu, following credible intelligence.
“During the patrol, one Sunday Ejibo, 39, of Ejema village, Orokam, was arrested. A search conducted on him led to the recovery of a locally fabricated pistol designed to use AK-47 ammunition, one 7.62mm round, substances suspected to be methamphetamine (ice) and cannabis.
“Also, two other suspects, Peter Kenneth, 35, and John Mathew, 36, both from Iru village in Orokam, were arrested. A search on them led to the recovery of one pair of Police Mobile Force uniform and suspected hard drugs,” he said.
Sources said the case had been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID) for discreet investigation.
