A deadly confrontation between two bandit factions erupted on Thursday at about 7:00 p.m. in Bichi Forest, Danmusa Local Government Area of Katsina State, leaving several casualties and forcing villagers to flee.

Zagazola Makama gathered that the rivalry involved two field commanders of the “Monore” camp, Abdulkarim Umar, 25, and Surajo Tukur, 29, both of Bichi Village, and their team, clashing with commanders of the rival “Muhammadu” camp, including Kabiru, Master Musa, Dan Dukununu, and Sanusi.

During the gun battle, the Muhammadu camp commanders were killed, while Abdulkarim Umar sustained injuries to his left chest and thigh, and Surajo Tukur was injured on his left hand and leg.

The attack has caused fear among Bichi villagers, many of whom have relocated to Mara Village, Danmusa, fearing reprisal attacks from the Muhammadu faction.

The slain bandits were reportedly responsible for terrorizing communities in Matazu, Kankia, Musawa, and Dutsin-Ma Local Government Areas.
