Rivers Police Arrest Four More Kidnapping Suspects, Recover Two AK-47 Rifles

The Nigerian Police Force(NPF) in Rivers arrested four additional kidnapping suspects in an intensive 72-hour mop-up operation conducted by operatives of the Anti-Kidnapping Unit (AKU).

 

Intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama that the  latest arrests follow the earlier apprehension of five other suspects and the recovery of arms and ammunition linked to multiple kidnapping incidents across the state.

 

The newly arrested suspects are: Abubakar Muhammadu, A native of Makwa LGA, Niger State, residing in St. John’s Iwofe, Obio-Akpor LGA, Mohammad Ori (43) From Kaffi Hausa LGA, Jigawa State, residing in Rukpokwu, Obio-Akpor LGA, Muhammadu Ahmad (30) – Also from Kaffi Hausa LGA, Jigawa State, residing in Rukpokwu, Obio-Akpor LGA and Usman Abubakar (35) – From Kainji LGA, Niger State, residing in Eleme, Rivers State.

 

The sources explained that the suspects have confessed to their involvement in multiple kidnapping operations within Isiokpo, Elele, Rumuji, and the Airport Road General Area.

 

Exhibits recovered from the suspects include:

Two AK-47 rifles and Two AK-47 magazines

 

The sources  confirmed that the suspects are cooperating with investigators and providing valuable intelligence that will aid further arrests and recovery of additional arms.
