Soldier Dies in Road Traffic Accident Along Keffi–Abuja Road

A soldier of the 177 Guards Battalion deployed at the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Orientation Camp in Keffi, Nasarawa State, has died following a road traffic accident.
Sources said the incident occurred on June 13 along the Keffi–Abuja road when the soldier was involved in a hit-and-run accident while on administrative duty.
The source explained that the soldier sustained injuries to the head and hand and was immediately evacuated to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Keffi, for medical attention.
He was, however, confirmed dead while receiving treatment.
According to the source, the remains of the deceased have been deposited at the FMC mortuary for further necessary action.
Military authorities are expected to commence routine procedures in line with service regulations.
