Suspect Arrested Over Deadly Attack in Edo Community

A suspect linked to a violent attack that left four persons dead in Edo State has been arrested in Delta State.
Security sources said the arrest was carried out at about 2:45 p.m. on May 19 by troops of 90 Amphibious Battalion in collaboration with local vigilantes.
The suspect was apprehended in the Shekelewu general area of Warri North Local Government Area of Delta State in connection with the attack on Browndy Camp in Abiala community, Edo State, which occurred on May 10 and resulted in the death of four civilians.
Sources disclosed that the operation followed coordinated intelligence tracking of suspects believed to have fled the scene of the crime into neighbouring communities.
Items recovered from the suspect included one mobile phone, a vigilante identity card, the sum of N5,000, and other personal effects.
The suspect and recovered items were subsequently handed over to the Nigeria Police Force, Koko Division, for further investigation and necessary action.
Security sources said operations were ongoing to track down other individuals linked to the violent incident, while inter-agency collaboration had been strengthened across border communities in Edo and Delta States.
