Troops Arrest 10 Terrorism Informants, Clear Suspected Hideouts in Niger State

Troops of Operation Savannah Shield have arrested 10 suspected terrorism informants and collaborators during a fighting patrol in Borgu Local Government Area of Niger State.
Security sources said the operation was conducted at about 10:05 a.m. on June 11 by troops of the Combined Intervention Strike Brigade XVI (CISB XVI), operating from Forward Operating Base (FOB) Audu Fari.
According to the sources, the troops carried out a fighting patrol across several communities, including Tungan Yaboye, Kumble, Sabon Gari, Dogon Ruwa, Lambu, Tungan Isah, Rafi Maigudu, Swashi, Guffanti, Kwanan Demu Junction, Papiri and Gallah.
The patrol, aimed at flushing out suspected terrorist elements and dismantling their support networks, led to the clearance of suspected hideouts across the affected areas.
However, no direct contact was made with armed terrorist groups during the operation.
The sources further disclosed that 10 suspected informants and collaborators were apprehended in the course of the patrol.
The suspects are currently in custody for further interrogation and subsequent action.
Military authorities reaffirmed their commitment to sustained clearance operations and intelligence-driven patrols to deny terrorists freedom of movement and logistical support in Niger State and adjoining areas.
