Troops Arrest Four Suspects Conveying Materials Believed for IED Production in Sokoto

Troops of 8 Division Garrison have arrested four suspected criminals found conveying metal materials believed to be intended for the production of improvised explosive devices (IEDs) in Isa Local Government Area.
Security sources told Zagazola Makama that the suspects were apprehended at about 4:15 p.m. on July 4 by troops deployed at Shanawa during a security operation.
According to the sources, the four suspects were intercepted while transporting metal bed frames and metal plates allegedly looted from Bafarawa community.
Preliminary investigation indicated that the recovered metal materials are commonly used as components in the fabrication of improvised explosive devices.
The suspects and the recovered items are currently in military custody for further investigation and possible prosecution.
Military sources said the arrest is part of ongoing efforts to disrupt terrorist logistics and prevent the movement of materials that could be used to manufacture explosive devices in the North-West.
