Troops of Sector 2, Multi-National Joint Task Force (MNJTF) Intelligence Battalion have arrested a suspected ISWAP/JAS associate linked to attempts to supply ammunition to terrorist elements operating in Yobe State.
Security sources told Zagazola that the arrest was made at about 1341 hours on May 10, 2026, in Babangida town, Tarmuwa Local Government Area of the state.
The sources said the operation followed credible intelligence derived from intercepted communications indicating that the suspect was actively involved in coordinating ammunition support for terrorist groups.
Preliminary interrogation reportedly revealed that the suspect had been contacted by a terrorist identified as “Modu,” believed to be operating within the Damasak axis, to facilitate logistics and ammunition supply.
Military authorities said the suspect was swiftly tracked and apprehended by troops before any transaction could be completed.
They added that the suspect is currently in custody and undergoing further interrogation to uncover wider networks and collaborators involved in the supply chain to terrorist elements.
According to the sources, operations in the area remain ongoing as troops intensify efforts to disrupt terrorist logistics networks and prevent the movement of arms and ammunition across the theatre.
