Troops Arrest Suspected Terrorist Collaborator in Zamfara

Troops operating under the Theatre Strike Team in conjunction with personnel of 1 Brigade Counter-Terrorism Unit 2 have arrested a suspected terrorist collaborator in Kaura Namoda Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
Military sources disclosed that the suspect was apprehended at about 10:00 a.m. on June 17 during a security operation at a Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) checkpoint along the Kaura Namoda–Zurmi Road.
According to the sources, the suspect, identified as a teenager, was intercepted following intelligence-led screening by security personnel deployed to the checkpoint.
The sources said preliminary investigations linked the suspect to activities supporting terrorist elements operating within the area.
The suspect is currently in military custody and is undergoing further investigation to determine the extent of his involvement and possible links to criminal networks.
Security authorities reaffirmed their commitment to sustaining intelligence-driven operations aimed at dismantling support structures aiding terrorist and bandit groups across Zamfara and other parts of the North-West.
They urged members of the public to continue providing credible information to security agencies to enhance ongoing counter-terrorism efforts.
