Troops arrest suspected terrorist in Niger, recover cash and items

Troops of the Nigerian Army have arrested a suspected terrorist and his driver during a routine patrol along the Mokwa–Jebba road in Niger State.
Security sources said the arrest was made at about 5:01 p.m. on April 26 by troops of 221 Battalion deployed at Jebba in Mokwa Local Government Area.
The sources disclosed that the suspects were intercepted while moving along the route, leading to their arrest.
Items recovered from them include 100 U.S. dollars, clothes, charms, prayer beads, one mobile phone, a jackknife, a wristwatch, a flash drive, a Bluetooth device, a SIM card, two ATM cards, and a truck.
According to the sources, the suspects and the recovered items are currently in military custody for further investigation and necessary action.
The sources added that troops have continued routine patrols and surveillance in the area to deter criminal activities.
