Troops Arrest Suspected Terrorist Informant in Kwara

Troops of 244 Battalion deployed at Forward Operating Base Kaiama, in collaboration with vigilante operatives, have arrested a suspected terrorist informant in Kaiama Local Government Area of Kwara State.
Security sources told Zagazola Makama that the suspect was apprehended at about 6:45 p.m. on April 28 in Vera village during a joint security operation.
The sources said preliminary investigations indicated that the suspect allegedly wrote and delivered a threat letter to the community, purportedly on behalf of terrorists.
According to the sources, the suspect is believed to have been acting as an informant for criminal elements operating in the general area.
They added that the suspect is currently in military custody and undergoing further interrogation for possible prosecution.
