Troops arrest suspected terrorist logistics supplier in Damasak

Troops of the Joint Task Force North East, Operation HADIN KAI, have arrested a suspected terrorist logistics supplier during an operation in Damasak, Mobbar Local Government Area of Borno State.
Intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama that the suspect, identified as Mustapha Usman, 50, was apprehended at about 9:50 a.m. on July 24 by troops of 5 Brigade working in collaboration with members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) at the Damasak Onion Market.
Items recovered from the suspect include a red Toyota Isuzu vehicle with registration number XA643-GDM and ₦35,300 in cash.
The suspect and the recovered items are currently in the custody of 5 Brigade for further investigation and necessary action aimed at uncovering possible links to terrorist logistics networks operating in the Lake Chad region.
Military sources said the general security situation across the North East theatre remains calm but unpredictable, while troops continue offensive and intelligence-driven operations to disrupt terrorist activities and their supply chains.
