Troops foil bandit attack, rescue three kidnapped victims in Katsina

Troops of Sector 2, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, in collaboration with the Nigeria Police Force, have foiled a bandit attack and rescued three kidnapped victims along the Dandume–Sheme Road in Katsina State.
The operation followed a distress call from local residents reporting the presence of armed terrorists along the route.
According to military sources, the joint team swiftly mobilised to the area and engaged the attackers with superior firepower.
The bandits were overwhelmed and fled into the surrounding bushes with gunshot wounds.
During a subsequent search and clearance operation, the troops rescued three kidnapped victims identified as 58-year-old Mutairu Adamu, 25-year-old Yusufa Habibu and 22-year-old Aminu Musa.
The security forces also recovered two vehicles abandoned by the fleeing criminals. The vehicles were identified by registration numbers FTA 702 XB and EPE 706 XB.
The rescued victims are currently receiving necessary care and undergoing assessment before being reunited with their families.
Security forces have maintained a heightened operational posture in the area to safeguard commuters and residents and prevent further criminal activities along the Dandume–Sheme axis.
The operation highlights the continued collaboration between the military and police in disrupting bandit activities and protecting vulnerable communities across Katsina State.
