Troops of Operation Enduring Peace (OPEP) have intercepted 140 cattle allegedly found grazing on farmland belonging to a resident of Jebbu Miango, Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State.

Security sources said the incident occurred at about 6:15 p.m. on October 31, 2026, when troops of Sector 3 OPEP responded to a report of farm destruction involving Mr David Luka.

The sources said the troops arrived at the location and intercepted the cattle grazing on the farmland.

The herders reportedly fled upon sighting the troops, leaving the livestock behind.
The intercepted cattle were subsequently moved to a safe location for further action.

According to the sources, Fulani leaders in the area have been contacted to assist in identifying the owners of the cattle.

The development comes amid ongoing efforts by security agencies to address farm destruction and prevent farmer-herder disputes in Plateau State.

Troops are expected to take further action following the identification of the livestock owners.
