Troops intercept suspected terrorist logistics supplier, recover motorcycles, PMS in Katsina

Troops of Sector 2, Joint Task Force North West, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, have intercepted a suspected terrorist logistics supplier and recovered four brand-new motorcycles and 450 litres of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) in Katsina State.
The operation was conducted following actionable intelligence along the Gurbi–Zurmi transit corridor linking Katsina and Zamfara States.
According to military sources, the troops mounted a targeted stop-and-search operation during which they intercepted a commercial utility truck allegedly attempting to bypass security protocols.
A thorough search of the vehicle led to the discovery of four brand-new motorcycles concealed in sealed packages, apparently to evade detection.
The troops also recovered 15 jerrycans, each containing 30 litres of PMS, which were allegedly concealed among containers of vegetable and palm oil to disguise the fuel consignment.
The driver, identified as Mallam Abbas Umoru, was arrested and is currently in military custody for questioning.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the recovered logistics were allegedly destined for terrorist enclaves operating within the border areas of Katsina and Zamfara States.
The interception is considered a significant disruption to terrorist supply networks, particularly their access to motorcycles for mobility and fuel for sustaining operations.
The suspect and recovered items remain in military custody as investigations continue to uncover other members of the logistics network and their links to terrorist groups operating in the region.
