Troops, NDLEA Arrest Six Suspected Drug Peddlers in Katsina State Raid

Troops of the Nigerian Army, in collaboration with operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), have arrested six suspected drug peddlers during a raid operation in Katsina State.
Security sources said that the operation was carried out at about 1730 hours on May 9, 2026, by troops of 17 Brigade operating from Forward Operating Base Malumfashi.
The sources said the joint team stormed Kauyan Dawo community in Malumfashi Local Government Area following credible intelligence on drug-related activities in the area.
According to the sources, the operation led to the arrest of six suspects allegedly involved in drug peddling within the community.
Items recovered during the raid included 82.5 grams of cannabis sativa, 15.7 grams of Exol-5 and 1.8 grams of D5.
Military authorities said the suspects and recovered substances have been handed over to the NDLEA for further investigation and prosecution.
They added that the operation is part of ongoing efforts to curb drug abuse and its linkages to criminal activities in communities across Katsina State.
