Troops, NDLEA arrest suspected drug peddler in Katsina

Troops of 17 Brigade, in collaboration with the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), have arrested a suspected drug peddler during a raid operation in Kafur Local Government Area of Katsina State.
Security sources said the operation was conducted at about 2:00 p.m. on April 12 at Kuringafa village by troops deployed at Forward Operating Base (FOB) Malumfashi alongside the NDLEA Area Command.
According to the sources, the suspect was apprehended with 487 grammes of a substance suspected to be cannabis sativa.
They added that the suspect and the recovered exhibit have been handed over to the NDLEA for further investigation and necessary action.
The sources noted that the joint operation underscores ongoing efforts by security agencies to combat drug trafficking and related crimes in the region.
