Troops Neutralise Four Terrorists, Destroy Camps in Zamfara Offensive

Troops of 1 Brigade, operating in coordination with ongoing clearance operations of 8 Division, have neutralised four terrorists during an offensive operation in Zamfara State.
Security sources informed Zagazola that the operation was conducted at about 7:00 a.m. on April 29 around Wonaka, Ajja and Gidan Mai Aiki villages in Gusau Local Government Area.
The sources said troops made contact with suspected armed elements at Ajja village, resulting in a fierce exchange of fire.
According to the sources, the troops overpowered the attackers, neutralising four terrorists in the encounter.
Items recovered include two AK-47 rifles, one locally fabricated handgun, five magazines and 280 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition.
The sources added that troops also destroyed several terrorist camps and all identified makeshift structures used by the criminals within the affected communities.
They said the operation is part of ongoing efforts to clear criminal elements and restore normalcy in the area.
