Troops of the Nigerian Army’s 101 Special Forces Battalion have recovered additional items during an exploitation operation following a failed attack by Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists on the battalion’s location in Kukawa, Borno State.

The recovery was contained in Operation Hadin Kai/MNJTF Special Situation Report No. 95, as of Sept. 2, 2026.

According to the report, the items were recovered about 4km northeast of Kukawa, around the Alagarno axis.

The recovered items included a motorcycle, three blankets, a jack knife, an extra-large prayer mat, tea cups and other tea items, a rope, a head warmer and a pair of trousers bearing blood stains.

The recovery followed the terrorists’ unsuccessful attack on the 101 Special Forces Battalion location, with troops subsequently conducting exploitation operations in the surrounding area.

The report said the general security situation remained calm but unpredictable, while troops’ morale and fighting efficiency remained satisfactory.

The development underscores the continued efforts by troops to exploit the aftermath of terrorist attacks and recover materials that could assist ongoing security operations in the area.
