Troops Recover Two Fabricated Pistols During Renovation in Borno

Troops of the Nigerian Army have recovered two unserviceable fabricated pistols during renovation work on a military facility in Borno State.
Security sources disclosed that the discovery was made at about 3:38 p.m. on May 31 by troops of the 93 Battalion while carrying out routine fatigue duties during the renovation of the roof of Military Officers’ Quarters (MOQ) 11.
According to the sources, the weapons were found at the rooftop of the building during ongoing renovation activities.
The sources said the recovered items were unserviceable fabricated pistols and have since been taken into custody by the troops for further action.
Military authorities have not yet determined how the weapons were brought to or left at the location.
A security source said investigations have commenced to establish the circumstances surrounding the discovery.
“The items have been recovered and secured pending further investigation,” the source said.
Security agencies have continued to emphasize vigilance and thorough inspection of military and public facilities to prevent possible security breaches.
