Troops  repel bandits, two women killed in Katsina-Ala LGA

On April 26, 2025, suspected bandits attempted to enter Abaji Town, located in Katsina-Ala Local Government Area, at around 16:30hrs, firing sporadically.

 

In response, the Nigerian army troops of  Operation Whirl Stroke, Police and the Benue State Civil Protection Guard, swiftly arrived at the scene and repelled the bandits. The assailants fled following the arrival of the combined security forces, preventing further damage.

 

However, two women were shot by the bandits before the security teams arrived. One woman, identified as Iveren Titus, died on the spot, while the second woman is currently receiving treatment at NkST Hospital in Abaji.

 

A serious manhunt is underway to apprehend the fleeing bandits, with all surrounding areas being combed.
