Troops rescue 16-year-old kidnap victim in Kaduna

Troops of Sector 7, Sub-Sector 71, Operation ENDURING PEACE (OPEP), have rescued a 16-year-old boy believed to have been kidnapped in Kaduna State.

The victim, identified as Master Uche Chibuke, was rescued at about 11:00 a.m. on Sept. 1 at Kurmin Goro, Sanga area.

According to sources, the victim was abducted on Sunday, Aug. 30, 2026, while returning from a graduation ceremony at Kaduna State College of Education, Gidan Waya.

He was reportedly travelling towards Onitsha when his abductors abandoned him after sighting troops in the area.

The troops subsequently secured the victim and took him to safety.

Efforts are ongoing to reunite the rescued teenager with his family, while security agencies continue to work to establish the circumstances surrounding his abduction and identify those responsible.
