Troops rescue injured farmers after attack in Kogi

Troops of the Nigerian Army have rescued two injured farmers following an attack by suspected terrorists in Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State.

 

Sources said the incident occurred at about 0901 hours on Wednesday at Agbara community, where the assailants reportedly attacked a farmer on his farmland.

 

Troops of 12 Brigade deployed at Forward Operating Base (FOB) Egbe responded swiftly to a distress call but made no contact as the attackers fled before their arrival.

 

The troops, however, rescued two victims who sustained injuries during the attack and evacuated them to ECWA Hospital, Egbe, for medical attention.

 

Security authorities said efforts were ongoing to track down the fleeing suspects and prevent further attacks in the area.

 

They reiterated the commitment of the military to safeguarding lives and property, particularly in rural communities prone to such attacks.
