Troops rescue three abductees in Taraba

Troops of 6 Brigade, Nigerian Army, have rescued three kidnapped persons during a raid on a suspected bandits’ hideout in Taraba State.

 

Sources told Zagazola Makama  that the operation was carried out at about 5:14 a.m. on Jan. 5 at Sangai village in Bachama area of the state.

According to the sources, troops deployed in Jeb Jeb acted on credible intelligence on kidnappers’ activities in the area and immediately conducted a raid on the suspected location.

 

“The bandits, on sighting the troops, abandoned their victims and fled towards the Taraba–Plateau State border,” the sources said.

The troops successfully rescued three abductees identified as Nimron Umar, 25; Abafaras Ibrahim, 20; and Habila Yunusa, 23.

They said the rescued persons were safe and currently in military custody, pending the completion of preliminary investigations before being handed over to their respective families.

The sources added that troops’ morale and fighting efficiency remained high, with sustained alertness and dominance across the area of responsibility.
