Troops respond as youths assault herder in Plateau

Troops of Sector 1, Sub-Sector 12, Operation Enduring Peace (OPEP), have responded to the assault of a herder by youths at Waduru Community in Jos South Local Government Area of Plateau State.
Zagazola Makama reports that the incident occurred at about 7:50 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 3, while the victim, identified as Muazu Ahmed Abdullahi, was grazing in the area.
Following a distress report, the troops moved to the location but the alleged assailants fled upon sighting the security personnel.
The troops found Abdullahi with injuries sustained during the assault and immediately evacuated him to Kum Hospital, Latya, for medical attention.
Meanwhile, efforts are ongoing to identify and apprehend the fleeing suspects.
The security intervention is part of ongoing efforts to prevent attacks and maintain peaceful coexistence among communities in the area.
