Troops of Sector 2, Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS), have arrested two suspects following a clash between farmers and herders at Ogobo in Nasarawa Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.
Security sources told Zagazola Makama that the incident occurred at about 4:50 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 6, when troops deployed at Mararaba Udege responded to a distress call over the clash.
The confrontation reportedly started after the two suspects allegedly grazed their cattle on farmland, leading to a dispute with farmers in the community.
During the incident, two farmers sustained machete cuts and were evacuated to the Primary Health Centre, Akum, for medical attention.
The two suspects were apprehended by the troops and subsequently handed over to the Police Division in Udege for further investigation and necessary legal action.
Security personnel have continued to monitor the area to prevent further escalation between the farming and herding communities.
