Two suspects arrested in separate incidents in Jos North LGA

Troops under Sector 1 of Operation Enduring Peace have arrested two suspected criminals in separate incidents within Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State, including one man found with ammunition and another accused of stabbing a personnel.

 

Security sources told Zagazola Makama that  the first arrest occurred at about 0615 hrs on April 18 near the Correctional Centre area, where troops intercepted one Azi Izang, 24, in possession of a round of 7.62mm ammunition.

 

The suspect was reportedly apprehended during a routine operation around the Gray Garden axis west of the Mine area in Jos, and has since been taken into custody for further investigation.

 

In a separate incident the same day at about 1920 hrs, troops on foot patrol arrested one Khalid Usman, 20, in connection with the stabbing of a personnel identified as Insp. Kabiru Muhammad.

 

The attack reportedly occurred in the Congo-Russia area of Jos North LGA, where the suspect allegedly used a knife during an altercation before being overpowered and arrested.

 

Security sources confirmed that the injured personnel is receiving medical attention, while the suspect remains in custody pending further action.

 

Authorities said both incidents are under investigation, noting that troops remain on heightened alert within the area to prevent further breaches of security.
