Village Head Injured in Attack Along Bokkos Road in Plateau

The Village Head of Gwande community in Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State has sustained injuries following an attack by unidentified assailants along the Daffo–Hotom–Sha road.
Security sources said the victim, Mr. Samuel Usman Alakate, 60, was attacked on Tuesday evening while travelling along the route in Bokkos LGA.
Troops of Operation Enduring Peace deployed under Sector 5 in Bokkos, responded to a distress call and rushed to the scene.
On arrival, the troops found the injured village head and immediately evacuated him to the Cottage Hospital in Bokkos for medical attention.
The sources said security personnel had since intensified patrols and domination operations in the area to forestall further attacks and reassure residents.
The sources said efforts are ongoing to identify and apprehend those responsible for the attack, the sources added.
