11 killed, 12 injured in road crash in Kebbi

No fewer than 11 persons have lost their lives while 12 others sustained injuries in a fatal road accident along the Dakingari–Kamba road in Kebbi State.
Security sources said the accident occurred at about 10:00 p.m. on April 27 at a location known as Bakin Dutse.
The sources disclosed that the crash involved a Mitsubishi Canter vehicle driven by one Sanusi Aliyu of Kamba and a trailer with unidentified registration number and driver.
According to the sources, the Canter vehicle, which was conveying goods and passengers from Aljannare market to Kamba, attempted to dodge a pothole, causing some passengers to fall off the vehicle.
The sources added that the trailer, approaching from the opposite direction, ran over the victims.
As a result, one Nura Nuhu, 25, from Sokoto State, and 10 others died on the spot, while 12 persons, including Aliyu Suleman, 45, sustained serious injuries.
The injured victims were rushed to General Hospital Kamba for treatment, while the bodies of the deceased were deposited at the hospital morgue for autopsy.
