Acting GOC Commends Troops After Foiled Terrorist Attack in Borno

The Acting General Officer Commanding (GOC) 7 Division of the Nigerian Army and Commander, Sector 1, Operation HADIN KAI, Brig.-Gen. SS Diwa, has commended troops of 153 Task Force Battalion, Kirawa, for repelling a terrorist attack in Gwoza Local Government Area of Borno.
Diwa gave the commendation during an operational visit to the battalion headquarters in Kirawa on May 24 for an on-the-spot assessment following the failed attack on troops.
During the visit, the acting GOC received a briefing from the Commanding Officer of the battalion on the incident and was later conducted round operational deployments within the area.
He praised the troops for standing firm and holding their ground against the attackers, urging them to remain resilient and courageous in the face of future threats.
The acting GOC also addressed volunteer forces operating in the area and encouraged them to continue supporting troops during operations through collaboration and timely intelligence sharing.
Diwa further visited Kirawa town and inspected the border area between Nigeria and Cameroon as part of the assessment tour.
