Troops conducting air support operations under Operation FANSAN YANMA have reportedly neutralised several suspected terrorists following a precision strike on a hideout in Giwa Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

Sources told Zagazola Makama that the operation was executed on June 22 at about 5:10 p.m. after credible intelligence indicated terrorist movement within Kidandan axis of Kidandan.

The source explained that an aerial surveillance platform was deployed for an intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance mission, during which it monitored activities across the general area.

According to the source, four suspected terrorists were initially sighted on motorcycles and placed under continuous tracking, while two additional motorcycles were intercepted along a strategic route believed to lead to a terrorist assembly point.

The monitored movement reportedly led troops to a suspected high-ground hideout within the operational area of Giwa.

The source said the aerial platform maintained surveillance over the location before a precision strike was carried out on the target, resulting in the neutralisation of several suspected terrorists, while others fled in disarray.

Battle Damage Assessment (BDA) of the area indicated that the strike was successful, though the exact number of casualties could not be independently confirmed at the time of reporting.

Military authorities under Operation FANSAN YANMA said follow-up operations were ongoing to exploit the success of the mission and deny terrorist elements freedom of action across parts of Kaduna State.

The source reaffirmed the commitment of troops to sustained intelligence-led air and ground operations aimed at degrading terrorist capabilities and restoring security in affected communities.
