Troops of Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) have arrested two suspected kidnappers during a coordinated security operation in Gubio Local Government Area of Borno State.

Security sources said the operation was carried out at about 6:00 p.m. on June 21 following credible intelligence on the activities of suspected kidnappers in the area.

The sources disclosed that troops of the 5 Brigade provided route clearance and close support for hybrid forces deployed to track and apprehend the suspects.

According to the sources, the operation led to the arrest of two suspected kidnappers, while security personnel also recovered one AK-47 rifle and a magazine.

The suspects are currently in custody and are undergoing further interrogation as part of ongoing investigations, the sources added.

Military authorities said the arrest forms part of intensified efforts to curb kidnapping and other violent crimes across Borno State and surrounding communities.

The sources further stated that the general security situation within the theatre remains calm but unpredictable, with troops maintaining a high level of alertness and operational efficiency.

Operation Hadin Kai has continued to conduct intelligence-led operations aimed at dismantling criminal networks and restoring stability in the North-East region.
