Armed Berom Militia Elements Kill Cattle in Barkin Ladi, Plateau

Troops of Operation Safe Haven (OPSH) have responded to a reported attack in which suspected armed Berom Militia elements killed cattle in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State.
Security sources said troops of Sector 4 reacted at about 3:20 p.m. on June 5 following a report of an attack around Nyerwie Village.
According to the sources, the suspected attackers had fled the scene before the arrival of troops deployed to the area.
On arrival, the troops discovered that one cow had been shot dead.
The sources said preliminary indications suggested that the perpetrators had already escaped before security forces could make contact.
They added that troops had commenced efforts to track and apprehend those responsible for the incident.
Security personnel have continued to maintain a presence in the general area to prevent further escalation and to sustain peace among affected communities.
