Security Forces Conduct Show of Force, Provide Security for Juma’at Prayers in Jos–Bukuru

Security agencies in Plateau State on Friday conducted a coordinated show of force and provided security coverage for Juma’at prayers across major locations within the Jos–Bukuru metropolis.

 

Security sources said the operation involved troops of Operation Safe Haven (OPSH), personnel of the Nigerian Air Force (551 NAF Station Keystone), the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), and other sister security agencies.

 

According to the sources, the joint exercise was carried out at about 1:00 p.m. on June 5 at major flashpoints within the Joint Operations Area (JOA) as part of proactive measures to ensure a peaceful and hitch-free observance of the Friday prayers.

 

The sources added that the show of force was also aimed at deterring criminal elements and denying them freedom of action within the metropolis.

 

“As part of proactive measures for a hitch-free Juma’at prayers, security agencies conducted a show of force across key locations within Jos and Bukuru metropolis and provided adequate security at various worship centres,” the sources said.

 

They noted that the operation recorded no security incidents, as the prayers were observed peacefully across all designated locations.

 

The sources further assured residents of continued joint security presence and collaboration among agencies to sustain peace and stability in Plateau State.

 

The exercise is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen public confidence and maintain law and order across the Joint Operations Area.
