Army Officer, Five Soldiers Injured in Road Traffic Accident in Benue

One officer and five soldiers of the Nigerian Army sustained injuries following a road traffic accident in Otukpo Local Government Area of Benue State.
The incident occurred on June 4 along the Adoka–Ogobia road while troops of Sector 1 were carrying out operational movement within the area.
According to sources, the accident was caused by a tyre burst, which resulted in the loss of control of the military vehicle involved in the incident.
The officer and five soldiers on board sustained varying degrees of injuries.
Following the accident, the injured personnel were promptly evacuated to St. Charles Hospital, Adoka, where they received medical attention.
Military authorities said the affected personnel were attended to swiftly, while necessary measures were taken to ensure their continued care and recovery.
The incident did not affect ongoing security operations within the area, as troops maintained operational activities in line with their mandate.
Road traffic accidents remain one of the operational risks faced by security personnel during routine patrols, deployments and other official movements across the country.
